So here we are back in level 4 since Christmas Eve, all hotels, pubs, restaurants and "non-essential" outlets shut: a new clothes iron is required but not from our usual shop - yet Tesco can supply one!
No travelling, no leaving the house except for work, exercise, food or medicines, and it feels as though these conditions have no real ending. It is such a strange unnatural world we are living in. An old friend sadly died yesterday, yet there will be no possibility of a funeral which we would normally have attended.
We know folk who are living on their own who find the current restrictions so very difficult to cope with. Most of all, we missed not being able to enjoy normal family relationships nor the usual family gatherings over the Christmas and New Year period. We know many of you will feel the same about life at the beginning of 2021, not sure how much the knowledge and sharing helps any of us - but we all plod on. Now Brexit gives the reporters extra copy - Holyhead is the second outlet port for freight traffic after Dover. Yesterday, six lorries were turned back for not having the right paperwork to embark for Dublin, which caused hassle and bad feeling, reminiscent of the recent scenes in Kent which had been so distressing, both for the lorry drivers and also the local population.
The mountains of Snowdonia are now covered with snow, it's looking very beautiful from here, but officially the whole area is still out of bounds to us all, and a friend who lives in Scotland is not supposed to cross the border to visit her family in the North of England. I still managed to get out to do some unusual filming - a local dance group needed a large space for their dancers, in addition to the iphone contributions they had already made at their various training halls (limit 15 performers - Covid rules), so they got the use of a hangar at RAF Valley where I actually got to film them this time.
Three pics for you - two of the performers and one of my 3 cam set up. At least there is now hope for a vaccine when it is rolled out nationally, although we are told there is a delay in supplying Wales, still, we wish A Very Happy New Year to you all and look forward in 2021 to being able to meet again in person, much as we have appreciated the Zoomed meetings. - Rob & Tricia
